In short
- Email support@owiwireads.com with the link, proof the work is yours, and your contact details.
- We usually take infringing work down within 2 working days and tell the uploader.
- Accounts that repeatedly upload others’ work are closed.
01Our approach
Everyone who publishes on Owiwi Reads promises that they own their work or have the right to publish it (see the Author Agreement). We respect copyright under the Nigerian Copyright Act 2022 and international treaties, and we respond to notices from rights holders anywhere in the world.
02Reporting infringement
Send a notice to support@owiwireads.com including:
- your name, address, phone number and email;
- the work you own (a title, link or copy), and how you own it – author, publisher or authorised agent;
- the link(s) on Owiwi Reads to the material you say infringes it, and which parts;
- a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law;
- a statement that the information is accurate and you are the owner or authorised to act for them;
- your signature (typing your full name is fine).
Please be accurate: knowingly false notices can lead to legal liability.
03What we do next
- We check that the notice is complete, then remove or disable the material – usually within 2 working days.
- We tell the person who uploaded it and send them a copy of the notice (your contact details may be included so they can reach you).
- Earnings from the removed work are held while the matter is open.
- Readers who bought a book that is taken down may be refunded.
